Dame Vesper Kernell, star of the soap opera "As the Disk Turns" (forty seasons, no known resolution), has been found dead in her dressing room during the 25th Penguin Awards. The tea was cold. So was she.
The real detective is stuck in a dependency-hell meeting and cannot be reached until the resolver finishes, which could be a while. You are the nearest person with a pulse and no alibi problems. You have been deputised. There is no badge, only a lanyard.
